On Monday, February 12, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic took part in the solemn ceremony of the anniversary stamp cancellation dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic.
The event was held in the Donetsk National Museum of Local Lore. Honourable guests also included the Minister of Communications Viktor Yatsenko, the director of the State Enterprise "Donbass Post" Denis Neudachin and the well-known political scientist, author of the book "Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic: Shot Dream" Vladimir Kornilov.
On the souvenir sheet No. 11 there are two art postage stamps No. 99 "Sergeyev Fyodor Andreyevich (comrade Artyom) 1883-1921" and No. 100 "Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic".
"This is a fateful moment! I am glad and proud that we remember our history, we honour the memory of our ancestors and the heroic past of our land. This event is one of the confirmations that we have not forgotten our history. We are one with the past, meaning we one are with the future!" Alexander Zakharchenko said.
During the cancelling ceremony, the participants of the solemn event stamped each envelope with a special postmark of the first day, after which they alternately left their signatures on each envelope, thus marking the entry of new postage stamps and envelopes into circulation.
