AFU soldier gets killed during firearms training to NATO standards

A serviceman of the AFU perished during a firearms training session conducted by Western NATO standards instructors in the so-called "ATO" zone, reported the official representative of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic, Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Marochko.

He noted that the increase in non-combat losses in units and formations of the Ukrainian forces in the so-called ATO zone is observed every day.

"Thus, on April 1, one serviceman was killed during a firearms training in the 108th battalion of the 10th separate mountain-assault brigade. The tragedy occurred as a result of officials' poor preparation for the training, non-compliance with safety measures, and lack of control by the command. A service inspection is being carried out, no report has been passed to the supreme headquarters," the lieutenant colonel said.

"It is important to note that the training was conducted by Western instructors who reported to their employers that the unit already met NATO standards. Hence, we can conclude that the NATO standards for Ukraine mean maximum losses, including such ridiculous ones," Marochko said.

Earlier, he stated that non-combat losses in the Ukrainian armed forces' ranks started growing after the army's transition to NATO standards.
