700 Italians sign Donbass petition to world leaders

More than 700 Italians signed the petition to world leaders asking them to stop Kiev's crimes against Donbass people, reported the LPR Trade Union Federation.

Earlier, the LPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Degtyarenko and his DPR counterpart Denis Pushilin urged the Russian, US and German leaders to make the so-called Ukrainian 'president' Pyotr Poroshenko terminate the shelling of the Republics’ territories. On February 2 the Republic launched collection of residents’ signatures in support of the petition.

The LPR Head Igor Plotnitskiy said Mir Luganschine social movement would facilitate signature collection and ordered the LPR district heads to set up mobile signature collection centres.

"On February 3, Italian activists launched signature collection campaign in the historical area of Rome next to the famed Coliseum, the venue of the action in support of Donbass. The campaign then continued in other parts of the country," says the LPR Trade Union Federation's statement.

"The Republic’s Trade Union Federation has developed friendly relations with Italian colleagues. Our friends are holding actions, conferences, exhibitions and other events to support Donbass. At deputies’ insistence, the Italian parliament will consider the Donbass situation in the near future as well as the government’s report on the moves it took to stop the war. This issue is rising to official level in Italy,” said the Trade Union Federation's Head Oleg Akimov.

As of February 11, more than 153,000 LPR residents signed the petition, according to LPR parliament speaker Vladimir Degtyarenko.
