131 miners evacuated from Scheglovskaya-Glubokaya mine in Makeyevka under Kiev’s shelling

This morning Ukrainian military opened fire at the Scheglovskaya-Glubokaya mine in Makeyevka, at the moment of the shelling 131 miners were underground, reported today the DPR Ministry of Coal and Energy.

“The shellings of the Republican coal-mining enterprises continue. On February 2 at 10:40 the Scheglovskaya-Glubokaya mine again came under artillery fire. At the time of shelling 131 miners were underground. At 11:30 the evacuation was begun,” said the administration representativr.

The press service clarified that a shell hit the headframe of the cage shaft, a surface mechanic was wounded as a result. It was noted that after his being injured the resuscitation and antishock group was called, which administered first aid to the wounded. Then the casualty was taken to a medical facility for further treatment.
