Although the doors of the NATO are opened for counties which are considered to be claimants upon joining Alliance, inside the Alliance there is not reached a consensus concerning this.
‘Unfortunately, in the issue of a membership in Alliance is not reached yet. I am glad that we can keep going on steps towards Montenegro.
It will confirm one more time that our policy of opened doors remains in force. Our doors are opened for all prospective members of the Alliance.
We hope for further progress in carrying out the aspirations of Ukraine, Georgia, Bosnia and Macedonia which are in the list of the counties that want to join NATO,’ pointed out Michael Karpenter, the Deputy authorized agent of the Defense Ministry of the United States of America at the Forum on Defense in Kiev.
