Red Cross officials in Kiev sold and stole humanitarian aid

The head of the Kiev branch of the Red Cross Nina Guseva is fired on the results of the internal audit. The audit showed that the organisation under her management had been selling the humanitarian aid for the ATO zone.

According to The Politnavigator, it is reported by the press service of Transparency International Ukraine.

The illegal activities of the Red Cross were detected by volunteers who then turned to the anti-corruption agencies and law enforcement agencies. Now the Odessa branch of the Red Cross of Ukraine is also being audited.

The Transparency International Ukraine noted that since the end of January 2016 the organisation had received a few complaints in which there were facts of renting wheelchairs for disabled, inactivity of visiting nurses and selling humanitarian aid.

Against this background, there looks especially juicy the information about the intention of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Kiev to raise more than $64 million in 2016 for humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons and citizens remaining in the ATO zone.
