Special Representative of the US State Department on Ukraine Kurt Volker plans to visit Kiev-held Donbass in late April - early May.
"I want to visit the eastern part of the country to see the conflict zone from the Ukrainian side. I want to meet with my Ukrainian colleagues in Kiev, but before that I would very much like to hear an answer from Russia and understand what we can talk about," he said in an interview with Voice of America.
According to Volker, it is important to pay attention to this conflict, since the hot stage of military operations is taking place in Donbass.
"The last few weeks have been slightly better, but now the tension is increasing again," he said.
The last meeting of Volker with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov took place in January of this year.
After that, according to Volker, the Russians haven't reached him.
