EU warned of tuberculosis spread in Ukraine

As noted on the website of the Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection), the increase in the number of cases in Ukraine was officially reported back in 1995. And since 2017, Kiev has received good subsidies from the World Health Organization (WHO), but this does not actually help, as "no progress is being made in stabilizing the situation in the country."

"Since 2014, Ukraine has entered the top five countries with the most frequent cases of drug resistant (multidrug-resistant) tuberculosis," Rospotrebnadzor reports.

"International experts note the problems in statistical recording of morbidity, and also draw attention to the fact that in a number of regions of the country the situation is most  severe, especially in the southern regions of the country – Odessa and Kherson, where more than a hundred cases of newly diagnosed tuberculosis are registered annually among 100,000 people," the department says.
