Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 03/25/2018

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces committed three violations of the ceasefire, engaging weapons against the territory of our Republic, including those banned by the Minsk agreements.

In the Donetsk direction, the area of the Donetsk airport underwent shelling by the Ukrainian fighters, while shelling the enemy engaged tanks, 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and large-calibre small arms.

In the Mariupol direction, the enemy also engaged 82-mm mortars and large-calibre small arms, firing six mortar shells at the area of Sakhanka settlement, where a gas pipeline and the facade of a residential building sustained damage on Lenin Street.

Also today, at 8:35 am, Kominternovo settlement underwent shelling with 120-mm mortars and grenade launchers, the AFU militants fired eight mortar shells and made six rounds with grenade launchers.

Information on the destruction and injured is being specified.

Tonight the enemy made another unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate the positions of our Armed Forces.

At about 2 o'clock in the morning, near Pesky settlement, our monitors detected an up-to-15-strong group of armed AFU scouts, heading towards our positions. We continued our monitoring without opening fire. However, while moving, the enemy hit a minefield.

Having tripped land mines, the militants allegedly lost two men killed and three wounded and began to retreat. The militants' withdrawal was covered by the fire engaged with tanks and mortars, and our positions were targeted at the same time.

Judging by the fact that the Ukrainian side is aware of the presence of mine fields and strong defense lines in this sector, a conclusion can be drawn that these scouts were in a state of either alcoholic or narcotic intoxication. We have no other explanation for such reckless actions on the part of the Ukrainian side.

Our reconnaissance established that in the field artillery depot of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade in the vicinity of Novogorodovka settlement, there is currently operating a commission from the so-called "ATO" headquarters and the investigative bodies of Ukraine. The arrival of the exceptional commission is connected with the fact that a cache of weapons and ammunition had been found in the Kiev region. All the registration numbers of these weapons are listed in the 57th brigade.

Similar commissions have been dispatched to other formations and units of the occupation forces.
