The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense. The enemy continues to shell the Republic's territory, using mortars of 120-mm and 82-mm calibres.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy fired 41 mortar shells of 120-mm and 82-mm calibres onto the areas of Zhabichevo settlement and the Kirovsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk. In addition, IFV weapons, various types of grenade launchers and small arms were engaged.
In the Gorlovka direction, the enemy fired 12 mortar shells of 82-mm calibre at the area of Zaitsevo settlement. Besides, the AFU engaged various types of grenade launchers and small arms during the shelling.
In the Mariupol direction, the areas of Kominternovo, Oktyabr and Leninskoye settlements underwent shelling. The enemy used 82-mm mortars, firing eight rounds.
In total, over the past day, there were registered eight violations of the ceasefire regime on the AFU part.
The Ukrainian military command continues to build up a grouping of forces in the so-called ATO zone, thereby confirming our assumptions about the intentions of the military and political leadership of Ukraine to again unleash a bloody war in Donbass. This was also confirmed by the words of the chief of the AFU General Staff, Muzhenko, who stated yesterday that the Ukrainian troops are to go through their territory and their land, carrying out tasks within the territory of Ukraine.
There is observed an intensification of enemy reconnaissance, including with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, in order to clarify the data for artillery shelling. In addition, there was detected flight of the American Global Hawk UAV, the reconnaissance data from which the US Armed Forces command graciously shares with Ukrainian counterparts.
The DPR Armed Forces' reconnaissance registered the arrival of a company tactical group of the 30th separate mechanized brigade to the area of Taramchuk settlement (2 km to the contact line).
On February 7, from the positions of the 54th separate mechanized AFU brigade in the Svetlodarsk Bulge area north-eastwards from Logvinovo settlement, our positions were bombarded with MLRS Grad, at that, 180 rockets were fired. This fact is confirmed in the OSCE Mission’s report of February 8, but in its English version only.
In the Russian version of the report, posted on the OSCE official website, 60 missile launches from the positions about 5-7 km northeast of Svetlodarsk settlement, where AFU units are deployed, are given as 60 explosions, estimated as MLRS Grad shots.
Ukrainian propagandists hastened to turn the translation difficulties into their own favour and presented the situation in the media as if the OSCE Mission had recorded that AFU positions had been shelled by the DPR Army, once again completely distorting the sense.
I would like to ask the OSCE leadership to exercise better control over officials involved in the translation of the Mission's reports into Russian, and also to specify the wordings "outgoing rounds" and "incoming rounds" in order to avoid pretexts for Ukrainian false media to manipulate the audience.
The report also mentions the MLRS and automatic control systems seen in the Ukraine-controlled territories: "Eight stationary MLRS (BM-21) in Topolinoye (19km north-west of Mariupol) and 13 self-propelled howitzers (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm) near Alexandropol."
In turn, I want to note that units of the DPR Armed Forces are observing the ceasefire regime, conducting scheduled training sessions and are ready to give an adequate response in the case of aggression by the AFU.
