About 9,000 joined LPR People’s Militia in 2016, the Republic’s chief enlistment officer Igor Marshuba said.
“This year, more than 9,000 personnel joined LPR People’s Militia. All passed rigorous psychological and physical examination and a State Security Ministry check,” Marshuba said.
“Military professions are now in great demand with recruiting centers reviewing each month some 1,200 volunteers willing to join LPR People’s Militia,” he went on.
Just about 70 percent of all candidates pass examinations, the officer said.
“The selection is careful now that we’ve toughened physical requirements,” he said adding that all LPR People’s Militia personnel are volunteers who signed an enlistment contract.
