“Komsomolets Donbassa” miners bring into operation first longwall face for this year

“Komsomolets Donbassa” mine’s employees in the locality of Kirovskoye to the south of the DPR brought into operation new driftage with coal reserve of 602 thousand tons. The above mentioned longwall face is the first in 2018.

The DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko attended the mine for such a solemn occasion; he was accompanied with the Ministers Council’s deputy chairman Dmitry Trapeznikov and acting head of the Coal and Energy Ministry Anatoly Nesterenko. In frames of the visit the meeting with the administration and employees of the mine took place. The Republic’s Head congratulated them with the longwall face’s launching and thanked them for their work.

“Our enemies really don’t want this, but even in the conditions of economical blockade we still can open new longwall faces and mine for coal. It is a little victory, but it is a victory. I would like to express deep gratitude to the enterprise’s employees for their work.

In turn, the chief engineer of the mine "Komsomolets Donbassa" Alexander Neretin told about the power of the new longwall face. According to him, the fourth eastern face of layer L3 of Block № 2 has a depth of 1,620 meters, and its length comprises 290 meters. Coal reserves are estimated at 602,000 tons of coal. The lifespan amounts to two years. The new face is equipped with a mechanized complex 1KD-90, a combine 1K-101U, a scraper conveyor SP251.13. The equipment was overhauled directly at the enterprise. It was also pointed out that the DPR State Inspection Commission assessed the longwall face as "excellent".
